Tryouts will begin in a few weeks and due to the closure at Nick Smith all events will be out of town and the current schedule is included below. The full tryout process includes 1 conditioning skate, 2 evaluation skates, and 2 exhibition games. All players participate in the conditioning and evaluation skates after which it is possible some players may be released.
The tryout fee this year is $135 which includes a $60 fee for a numbered red and white set of practice jerseys which are yours to keep. If you have a jersey set from a previous season you can use the promo code JERSEY in your registration to have the $60 fee removed. All players must wear these practice jerseys to each tryout and keep their own unique number which is associated with her. If your daughter has outgrown her jersey you can trade up for a bigger size. Let us know if this is the case.

Competitive Commitment Survey and Player Contract
To participate in competitive tryouts, prospective players must complete the competitive commitment survey and competitive player contract before making any payments and provide them at check-in to be permitted on the ice. These essential documents establish clear expectations for players and families, ensuring readiness to fully commit to a competitive team. Please refer to the Provincial AA/A Program Commitment document for further information.
Evaluation Process
It is mandatory that every player must check in at the tryout desk in the lobby prior to each ice time. Everyone will have the opportunity to attend 2 ice times.
Evaluations are done by impartial evaluators who have no affiliation to anyone trying out for the team.
First releases happen after the 2nd tryout.
Two exhibition games will be played versus other associations, with possible releases happening after each one.
Trying Out in Another Association
All players must tryout for their home association if the level of play sought is offered. In addition to trying out in their home association a player may choose to also tryout in one additional association. If a level of play is not offered at a home association a player may choose to tryout at a maximum of two different associations. In the case of any schedule conflicts during tryouts, a player must give priority to their home association’s tryouts in preference to any others. Each association has its own tryout fees and can include an additional cost of tryout jerseys.
Out of association players
Out of Association players must place in the top 80% of the team to be selected. A maximum of 3 Out of Association skaters (not goalies) will be considered for the final rosters.
How to prepare for Tryouts
CORA put together a great video for players and goalies on how to get ready for tryouts. WORA takes a very similar approach during tryouts, so we suggest that all players watch the video.
The video link can be found here for players and here for goalies.
